How viable are HP Regen Quints?

Either you're misinformed or it's just too early in the morning.

Mundo's passive restores 0.3% of his max life per second (not 3%) which makes +78 life a wooping 0.234 hp per second.

Edit: Also not making a case for health regen but any form of life gain (including regen, but also life steal and direct heals etc) DO scale in the sense that your resists makes this HP more effective.

- Thanks for correction, I overlooked the period. However, the main point that hp regen quints aren't any more useful on Mundo than other champs still stands. Health regen benefits indirectly from resistances, not health. Resistances reduce damage taken, which in turn means health regen can better keep up with it.

The only hero who finds HP regen quints viable is Poppy because of her insane passive - draw your conclusions from there, but with hp regen nerfs on items and Dariuses top lane her viability is even lower - yeah....

The main use of HP quints is toplane when you are against a champ that counters you and you just want to farm and not be harassed to base. The reason you picked a weaker champ in lane would be that you are good for the team comp later on if you can get through lane phase in an OK manner.
