"Could not connect to the HTTP server. Please check that your Internet Connection is enabled and that your firewall is not blocking acess"

Got this one after opening both files: "lol.launcher" and "lol.launcher.admin"

Is it becouse PBE servers are currently offline?
Or am I doing something wrong?

PS:
Thanks for the invitation

The PBE server is currently offline but that didn't prevent me to patch up.
You extracted the zip file in a folder first? Then run lol.launcher and it will patch for like half an hour. dont forget to make a shortcut for easier access.
If you did all the above then see if your firewall is blocking it and add Lol to trusted.

The thing is that I don't have any fire walls blocking it... So I'm wondering what's wrong :P

I am patching it up fine right now and i have firewall on pc and router.

It might be antivirus that is blocking it.

If you are on win7 or vista, try runing that program as administrator.
Note that I couldn't start update with lol.launcher so I used lol.launcher.admin and it worked.

Did you overwrite original lol files with the files from PBE folder? if yes, then thats your problem.
Files should be placed in empty folder

Tell me if you can open this web page http://l3cdn.riotgames.com/
If you can't well that's then problem on your ISP or DNS.
In any case tell me the results, since that is website form where we get our patches for pbe
